The Rundown on Tradesy & Some of My Favorite Purchases

February 03, 2017

Here's The Scoop.....
For those of you who are not familiar with Tradesy, I am so excited to share this with you.
Tradesy is a peer-to-peer resale website that allows you to buy and sell your items that are either new or in good condition.  They offer all different brands and probably have any particular one you can think of.
When buying, you can search by brand, price, color, and condition, though the mobile searching is limited.  It's a very easy buying process overall, and shipping is included in the item price.  Many people opt to use the Tradesy shipping kits, which must be mailed to the seller after you pay for your item.  This means your order will take a little longer to be delivered but it's usually not more than a week before you receive your purchase.  They accept returns for any reason and you are offered a full refund or a Tradesy site credit.  Note that while they advertise an authenticity guarantee, they do not actually authenticate, so do your research on designer labels before taking the chance on high-end purchases.
The item listings show very detailed pictures, and each one states the condition that the item is in.  I’ve purchased items that are new with tags, new without tags, and good condition which means gently used.  I love thrift shops and consignment shops so it was only a matter of time before Tradesy and I crossed paths.
I first came across the site last year when hunting for a good leather jacket. I did, in fact, find the perfect All Saints, Leather Moto Jacket (pictured below) and since then the site has been my go-to spot for high-end, luxury goods.  It kills me to pay full price for things so having a real-leather jacket wasn’t in the cards for me unless I was willing to consider the option of buying it second hand.

Since that purchase, I have used it frequently to buy quite a few items and have been very happy with all of my purchases and i'm excited to share a few of my favorites with you today!

All Saints Leather Moto Jacket
Condition: New w/ Tags
Retail Price: $590
Tradesy Price: $125

The only bad thing about this purchase was that I made it in August and then had to wait so damn long to wear this beautiful jacket.  Honestly, I made out like a bandit with this one. This is an authentic All Saints leather jacket, and it still had the tags attached when I received it.  It’s the most perfect dark green color, and it's a classic piece that will last me a lifetime.

Jeffrey Campbell – Over-the-Knee Boots
Condition: New In Box
Retail Price:$250
Tradesy Price: $100

These boots are fabulous.  They came in the original box, and the condition said that they were brand new, but after wearing them a few times, I noticed the sole was separating from the boot in the front.  It wasn't a big deal to me, and I knew I was still going to wear them, so I didn’t even bother trying to get any money back.  I still got a good deal, and all it took was a little bit of tacky glue to fix.

Self-Portrait Dress
Condition: New w/ Tags
Retail Price: $550
Tradesy Price: $150

Have you ever seen a more perfect dress?  I tried this dress on in Intermix over the summer, and I just knew at that moment that I needed to wear it to the upcoming wedding we'd be attending.  I was not willing to shell out the money for it though so I took to Tradesy and vau lah!  There it was.  It arrived and was in perfect condition with the tags still attached.  I was a happy girl.

Free People Vegan Leather Faux Fur Collar Jacket
Condition: New w/o Tags
Retail Price: $300
Tradesy Price: $75

This jacket was an impromptu purchase.  Generally, I go to Tradesy when I'm looking for something that's typically too expensive in the stores.  I came across this jacket and remembered seeing one very similar in the Free People catalog that I loved.  The condition said that it was brand new but just didn't have the tags attached, so I was a bit skeptical.  I decided to go ahead and order, and when it arrived, I loved it even more than I thought.  It did seem brand new or maybe whoever owned it before wore it once or twice but regardless, I was happy with my purchase.
Adrienne Landau Faux Fur Coat
Condition: New w/ Tags
Retail Price: $495
Tradesy Price: $95

This faux fur coat is my most recent Tradesy purchase.  I am absolutely obsessed with this coat.  My only issue with this one is that whoever owned it before me, definitely wore it a handful of times.  I honestly wouldn't mind this, but I felt that they were dishonest by saying the item was new with tags.  It did come with the tags attached, but the tags were on the inside sleeve, so they either reattached them, or they were shamelessly wearing it around with the tags still intact.
Tory Burch Kitten Heels
Condition: New w/o Tags
Retail Price: $250
Tradesy Price: $60

Not too much to say about these gorgeous TB heels other than they were a great purchase.  They're perfect for work, and they are super comfortable.  This is the perfect daytime heel and the black and gold goes perfectly with just about everything in my wardrobe.
Alexander Wang X H&M Zip Front Booties
Condition: Brand New, In Original Garment Bag
Retail Price: $395
Tradesy Price: $95

These boots are so damn cool.  I was desperately seeking a reasonably priced alternative to the Rag & Bone Shelby Boot because I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on those.  I knew I could count on Tradesy for this.  Although they have their differences, I actually like these better because I've never seen them before.  Only on Tradesy could you find a pair of boots like this for fraction of their retail price.  They came with the garment bag and everything!

Marc Jacobs Satchel
Condition: New-ish
Retail Price: $528
Tradesy Price: $125

With an aunt that works at Kate Spade and a good friend that works at Tory Burch, it's really hard for me to pay full price for a purse.  I honestly cannot remember the last time I did.  I wanted an everyday bag with a long strap and top handles that would fit all the crap I carry around all day.  I wanted something a little grungier than Kate and Tory had to offer, and I've always loved Marc by Marc Jacobs bags, so I was excited when I found this one on Tradesy.  The condition said that it was gently used, but the pictures made it look brand new.  When it arrived, I couldn't have been happier with the condition.  Not a single scratch or stain on the inside and I've been using it every single day since I got it.

Free People Bomber Jacket
Condition: New-ish
Retail Price: $250
Tradesy Price: $50

This bomber jacket is my low-key favorite purchase.  I bought it so long ago now that sometimes I forget it was a Tradesy purchase.  When the bomber trend first picked up I figured I would try Tradesy because I wasn't completely sold on the trend yet.  Now I'm a proud owner of this green bomber and a black one and they're my favorite jackets.  I don't know how long ago this was actually available in retail stores but I do not remember it.  That's a good thing for me though because I know a lot of people won't be sporting the same one.

As always, thank you for reading along today. I really hope you check out Tradesy and all they have to offer. If you have any questions that I didn't cover in my post above, please feel free to leave it in the comments or shoot me an email and I'd be happy to respond.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!
