Trying a New Trend: Layering Fishnets Under Jeans

There was a time when I wouldn’t have even considered buying fishnet stockings unless it was for my last minute Halloween costume.  I would wear them underneath denim shorts with a grungy t-shirt and fake nose ring and call myself a punk.

Well times have changed and I am really loving all of the ways that people have been incorporating them into their everyday outfits.  I wasn't completely sold on this trend until I saw this picture of (my fav) Hailee Baldwin in a super casual outfit with the fishnets underneath her jeans.  That’s when I realized it’s a great way to step up your denim game.

It makes your ripped and cropped jeans wearable all winter long.  Or you can try the fishnet socks instead of the full leg tights if you don’t want the full added layer.  I think the fishnet socks look best with a pair of sneakers or ankle boots like pictured below.

With my look above I decided to go super casual for a good weekend daytime outfit.  I layered my fishnets underneath a pair of cropped/frayed black jeans and sneakers.  I kept it casual up top with my double buckle belt and a good graphic tee.  It was super cold that day so I added the gray maxi duster and the pink coat for a pop of color.

There is no right or wrong way to wear this trend.  I definitely recommend trying this one out especially this time of year when outfits start to feel repetitive and blah.  This is a sure fire way to add some extra-dimension to your look and it’s really quite simple to do.  Another great thing is…… you can get fishnets anywhere and they are so damn cheap.  There’s no excuse not to try this one out!

I think next I'm gonna have to hunt down some ripped white jeans to try the fishnets out with.  The outfit possibilities are endless…….

Anyways, thanks for reading along today!  If you’ve tried out this trend in a different way, I’d love to hear how so feel free to share in the comments below.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!
