Metallics are sooooo hot right now.
My personal favorite are the metallic pleated skirts.  The options are endless and each one is more chic than the next.  They’re so festive for the holiday season and they are a great piece to invest in because you can easily incorporate them into a great day to night outfit. (Shop some of my favs below all under $100)

As you can tell from my previous post, I am seriously loving the greys lately.  I find it to be festive and flattering for my skin tone so I’m just going with it.
My outfit pictured above is perfect for all of the holiday soiree's coming up.  I’d gladly rock this to the office Christmas party, and may even repeat this one (lol prob not) for my family Christmas party.
The shiny metallic skirt/ankle boots combo is slightly edgy but I balanced it out with this cozy knit sweater on top.  The sweater even has an embellished metal neckline that happened to match the skirt quite perfectly.  To take the matching one step further I topped it off with this studded headband I got probably 6 years ago from BCBG.  One of those things I’ll just never let go of especially since I’m on a major headband kick the past couple weeks.  Why style my hair when I could just throw it in a pony and slap on a headband?  Bad hair days be gone!
It got a little tricky when I was trying to find the right jacket to wear with this outfit.  And by got a little tricky I mean I put on the jacket that I envisioned looking marvelous and my bf said, “that looks out of place”.  I always appreciate his candor and I encourage keepin’ it 100 but I was rushing out the door and started to panic.  I grabbed this tailored blazer and it looked sooooo much better (shout out to mckenna).  With the flowy skirt and sweater, the jacket should be fitted otherwise it just doesn’t look right.   Generally speaking, I think a cropped, tailored cut will always look best with a flowy skirt.  I found that out the hard way on Sunday but at least now I know for the future.

As always, thank you for reading along today.  I hope you all have a fabulous week and finish your holiday shopping early so you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the most wonderful time of year!
