Disco Ball Tee & Last Minute Holiday Shopping Guide

December 20, 2016

Wearing:
It was bitter cold outside the day we shot this look, I couldn’t even take my jacket off to show the whole t shirt but hopefully you get the idea. I’ve been having a lot of fun with my outfits lately and I’m still so into metallics and all things sparkly as you can see from the pictures above and my recent posts. This jacket has my go-to lately because it’s been so damn cold out and the faux fur lining on the inside keeps me nice and toasty.
Right now the internet is filled with party wear and holiday dressing, so I thought it would be a good idea to create a festive look on the more casual side. I saw this Wildfox Discoball Tee on dolls kill and I just knew I had to make it mine.  I'm such a sucker for shirts like these.  It’s so fun for this time of year and it’s one of those tees you can dress up or just throw it on to wear around the house.

I decided to dress it up for a fun weekend look. I’ve gotten so many questions about these booties and people are always so shocked that they were only $45.  They look really well made and they are really quite comfortable despite how stiff they appear.  Dolls kill is a really awesome site for fun/trendy pieces that won’t break the bank. I’ve gotten a lot of stuff from there recently because they always seem to be running sales and promotions and even if they aren’t, I can always find a good promo code for at least 20% off (you can use code:  SHODDYSCULT right now for 20% off).

The best part about this outfit to me is the asymmetrical zip leather skirt. I got this one on sale at Bloomingdales right before Thanksgiving and I have gotten so much use out of it already. It’s unbelievably versatile.  It's so easy to dress it up and down but my favorite look with this skirt is when it's paired with a chunky knit and some over the knee boots.  It's a great casual look to take you from day to night on the weekends.

I have also gotten a lot of questions about these tights I’m wearing. People seem to be confused because they look like I’m wearing over the knee socks with tights underneath but it’s actually just one piece. These are my absolute favorite tights. I always loved the way otk socks looked but I find it so annoying that they’re always falling down so these tights are the solution. I wear them with just about everything that requires tights and I always get so many compliments on them (Christmas gift perhaps?).

To keep with the rocker/grungy vibe I inevitably ended up with here, I went with this Mac lipstick in “heroine” and topped it all off with a plain black beanie because I don't leave the house without a nice warm hat this time of year.

Now I’ll get to the important stuff…..
