Now that the holidays are upon us, I've been seeing a lot of adorable & festive dresses in the stores.  For me, dresses are my go-to this time of year.  I find them to be the easiest, most comfortable and you can make them as casual or as fancy as you want with the accessories and outerwear you choose. I prefer dark shades and glittery tones because I find them to be the most festive. I like to jazz up my outfits with faux fur, fun tights, accessories and pops of colour in my clutches, jackets and heels.
I have been loving Topshop lately.  I'm a little late to the party on this one but that's because I'm always hesitant to order from new stores online.  Now there is a Nordstrom right down the street from my office and it has an amazing Topshop selection.  They always have all the new goodies and their prices are so affordable especially right now during the Fall Clearance Event.
This dress pictured above is from Topshop and it was totally worth the price.  I seriously don't think there's a more festive dress out there for the holiday season.  I love the fit and flare style and I definitely think that is the most flatting for short, flowy dresses.  The cold shoulders and the cross strap back detail is the perfect touch and keeps it showing just the right amount of skin.
I decided to kick this outfit up a notch with these Pretty Polly tights that have the gold sparkle stripe up the back.  I am a tights lover and a firm believer that tights can be cool and sexy not only in the classic black version, but also when embellished like these.  I was so excited when I came across these in the store.  They're so much more fun than the classic black tights I'd typically wear and they can be worn with so many different things.
Since this outfit was for the day I wanted to keep it more on the casual side so I went with this faux fur collar moto jacket and added the hat just because I love hats and I think they make any outfit more fun.  If I were to wear this dress at night or to a fancier holiday party, I would top it off with a peacoat or faux fur.  Instead of the hat, I would add a fun headband or hairpiece to make it more festive.
I have seen so many adorable dresses that have holiday party written all over them.  The possiblities are endless this time of year with the layering and wardrobe options so don't be afraid to have some fun with your look.  I've linked some of my favorite holiday dresses below and also some fun and festive tights to get your party outfits off to a good start.
