Nothing beats high street at affordable prices. I think that is the reason I can't seem to stay away from Zara. That and they seem to be adding new looks all the time and I mean AllTheTime. Most other designers that I love seem to only get new pieces in seasonally but not Zara. They stock their shelves weekly, constantly updating the stores with major trends and looks that seem as if they were taken right from the runway, only months earlier and for a small fraction of the price. As a clothing enthusiast, I succumb easily to that kind of pressure, adding new merchandise to my cart about as often as it hits the virtual shelves.

Keepin it 100 real quick: most of my days start with a quick browse of Zara's "new arrivals" so that I'm current on what's in the store and don't have to waste time scrolling through pages of stuff I have already seen before. Another great thing I've come to truly appreciate over my years of shopping is that I always know my size.  This is great because it means there's no risk in ordering online or skipping the fitting room if I'm in a rush.

Another reason I love Zara is because my girl Olivia Palermo is constantly spotted in head to toe Zara. And hey.... if it's good enough for Olivia than it's good enough for all of us.
I've also found that following her looks is like a shortcut to the best pieces at Zara. I can skip right through the nondescript knits and crazier prints and head straight to that very same black lapel coat she was spotted in at NYFW.

I can thank Olivia for this outfit pictured above because as soon as I saw her wearing that Zara coat I knew I had to have it. I also felt myself growing tired of a lot of my work clothes and knew it was time to take a trip to the mall.

I was lucky enough to snag the last coat in the store and although it was a tad too big, that made it all the more comfortable. It came in white also but I felt that the black looked more professional for work.
When I tried on these black high waist trousers, I instantly fell in love. They're super comfortable but the tailored cut keeps you looking polished. They have a slight stretch to them but they won't get too stretched out over the course of the day which is important to me. Nothing is worse than when you start the day with a pair on skinny pants and they're hanging off of the by the time you get home at night. I paired this pants/coat with this black and white stripe knit. I don't usually like stripes but I felt this really gave the outfit a classic look.

And these boots........ I have gotten a lot of questions about these babies and I understand why. On some random day a couple of weeks ago Aldo was having 50% off all of their new arrivals. These were exactly what I was looking for in an ankle boot. The sock boot look makes them super flattering on the ankle and the back zipper detail makes them more fun than your typical black boot. I have worn these with so many different outfits and each time I get so many compliments on them. Although the heel does seem a bit high, they are really comfortable and I can easily spend the day in them without the pain.
