The Art of Dressing in Head-to-Toe White

May 18, 2016

As far as I'm concerned, white pants & jeans are trans-seasonal and the days of wearing white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day are dead and gone.

Head-to-toe white is a trend that I have been dying to try for a while now.  I love how crisp, clean and elegant the look can be when it's done right.  I was a bit discouraged at first because all of the outfits that I had imagined would look so good were actually pretty tragic.  If white isn't a color you wear all that often then you will definitely want to play around with some different shades, patterns, and textures to figure out what suits you best.  You want the white pieces you choose to be slim but definitely not tight fitting.  White can be unforgiving if it hugs too much in the wrong places so you have to be careful.  Another important thing to remember when trying out this look is that your whites do not need to match, and it actually looks a lot better if they don't.  By mixing up different shades and textures, you avoid looking too uniform and it adds more dimension/interest.

I'm embracing my tomboy side here with the cuffed white button down and I think combining it with the frayed slim white jeans achieves the perfect balance.   These white jeans are so comfortable and unlike most cheap denim, they actually feel very well made and look like designer jeans.  I got them from Zara a couple of weeks ago because the cropped length looks so good with all of my block heel sandals.  They show just the right amount of ankle.  Another great thing about white-on-white outfits is that it's pretty much a blank canvas for you to accessorize as freely as you'd like.  Bandannas and chokers are my favorite right now.  They're such simple pieces that add so much to an outfit and really tie the whole look together.

Don't be afraid to experiment with the all-white look.  There are soooo many great white pieces out there now that Summer is right around the corner.  Shop my look and some more of this seasons must-have whites below!Follow
